This architectural wonder was built in 1956 and opened in 1957 as a nondenominational chapel. While it’s not used for services today, this special place is open daily to the public, 365 days a year from sunrise to sunset. James Hubbell, the artist, and architectural genius who built this masterpiece, combined local natural materials with gifted local contractors, craftsmen, and artisans.

The Sea Ranch Chapel is open daily to the public, 365 days a year from sunrise to sunset. Although parking is very limited, every time I have visited they have had open spots available.

  • Visiting this space when the sun is out and about definitely makes a difference. To absorb the full beauty of this space, the stained glass is breathtaking with the light shining through.
  • Sea Ranch also offers Airbnb rentals around this space to make visiting this location easy for everyone.

If you’re interested in exploring more stop at Sea Ranch Chapel, then continue down the road to visit Black Point Beach for a hike. Once you’re back on Highway 1, there are plenty of secluded coves and beautiful beaches to stop by along the way.
